I was attending a leadership development workshop where we did a values exercise. The kind where you pick 10 values, then prioritize them until there are only three remaining.
One of my top three values was, and still is, Authenticity.
How I show up in the world is of the utmost importance to me. That’s why I practice and promote Authentic Leadership.
Authentic Leadership is a healthy alignment between a leader’s internal values and beliefs and their external behavior. These leaders have a high level of self-awareness, integrity, and discipline. They take responsibility for their growth and actions, make decisions based on principles, and are interested in cultivating meaningful relationships with their teams and colleagues.
